Do You Forget That the Perfect One is Only Allah?
Who’s The Perfect One?
Indeed, we are all imperfect beings, whether human or angel.
No matter how divine or elevated a creature may seem, true perfection belongs only to Allah.
He is the All-Powerful, the All-Knowing, the Creator, and Sustainer of everything.
Every flaw, limitation, and weakness we possess is a reflection of our distance from His infinite perfection.
1. Allah’s Perfection
The Source of All Goodness:
Allah is the epitome of perfection.
His knowledge encompasses everything, His power knows no limits, and His mercy is beyond comprehension.
He is free from any flaw, error, or limitation.
His wisdom is absolute, and His creation reflects His will and purpose perfectly.
No Equal or Rival:
There is none like Him.
Nothing in creation can compare to His greatness, and no being can reach His level of purity, majesty, or power.
Even angels, though created without sin, are still limited in their understanding and abilities compared to the infinite nature of Allah.
2. The Imperfection of Humans and Angels
Humans Are Imperfect by Design:
Humans are inherently flawed, created with free will and the capacity for both good and evil.
We are subject to desires, temptations, mistakes, and sins.
Our journey in life is one of striving, falling, repenting, and seeking to align ourselves with the path that Allah has set out for us.
Our imperfections are a reminder of our need for His mercy and guidance.
Angels, Though Pure, Are Still Limited:
Angels are sinless beings, created to obey Allah’s commands without question.
However, despite their purity, they are still creatures—limited in knowledge, power, and understanding.
While they are closer to Allah in their constant worship and obedience, they are still creations, and thus, not perfect in the way that only Allah is.
3. A Reminder of Our Dependence on Allah
Our Imperfection Points Us to Allah:
Our flaws and limitations serve as reminders of our dependence on Allah.
If we were perfect, we would have no need for His mercy, forgiveness, and guidance.
It is in our imperfection that we turn to Him, recognizing that we are incomplete without His grace.
The Purpose of Our Flaws:
Imperfection is not a curse; it is part of the design of creation.
Allah created us to be imperfect so that we would seek Him, learn from our mistakes, grow in faith, and develop humility.
Our imperfections teach us patience, perseverance, and the importance of repentance.
4. Humility Before Allah’s Perfection
Recognizing Our Place:
Understanding that perfection belongs to Allah alone helps us stay humble.
We are not meant to be perfect; we are meant to strive for goodness and piety, knowing that we will make mistakes along the way.
Humility comes from recognizing our limitations and our need for Allah in every aspect of our lives.
Seeking Forgiveness and Guidance:
Because we are not perfect, we are in constant need of Allah’s forgiveness and guidance.
Islam teaches us the importance of repentance, turning to Allah after we err, and asking for His mercy.
The fact that we are not perfect allows us to experience the beauty of Allah’s forgiveness and the closeness that comes from seeking Him in times of need.
5. Even Angels Acknowledge Allah’s Perfection
Angels Praise Allah’s Perfection:
Angels, despite their sinless nature, constantly glorify Allah, recognizing that even they, in their purity, are far from His perfection.
They are aware of their limitations and exist to worship and serve Him, acknowledging that all greatness and purity belong to Allah alone.
Humans Can Learn from Angels’ Humility:
We can learn from the humility of the angels.
Though closer to perfection than humans, they never claim perfection for themselves.
They are fully aware that their existence and their role are entirely dependent on Allah’s will, and they never stray from glorifying Him for His greatness.
Conclusion: Only Allah Is Perfect
It’s easy to forget that perfection belongs solely to Allah, especially when we hold high expectations for ourselves and others.
But the truth is, no creation—whether human or angel—can claim perfection.
We are all imperfect, and our imperfections remind us of our place in the grand design of the universe.
Only Allah, the Creator of all things, is perfect.
Our task is not to achieve perfection but to strive for goodness, repentance, and faithfulness, knowing that it is through Allah’s mercy and guidance that we find our way.
Let us always remember our dependence on Allah, seeking His forgiveness for our mistakes and striving to be better, even in our imperfections.
